From November through February the start shifts to 9am, so plan your coffee run accordingly.
It's a cool Saturday in late October. Apple and persimmon season is in full swing, the last of the peppers are piled high, and from Auburn to Reno the weekend markets are still going strong.
The Central Sacramento Sunday market under the W/X freeway has run since 1980 and is Sacramento's original certified farmers market.

Apple Hill isn't a farmers market, but it's the fall weekend trip everyone in Placer County asks about. More than 50 family farms, bakeshops, cider barns and wineries around Camino are open now, about 44 miles up Hwy 50 from Roseville. The market marked its 50th anniversary this year, and it's about a 35-minute drive from Roseville.
